2011 election roundup: GOP wins 11 of top 20 mayor’s offices

Republicans flipped three races into its column (Anderson, Evansville, Jeffersonville), while Democrats flipped only one (Muncie). In the top 20 cities in Indiana, Republicans now hold a majority of mayoralties, although the greater majority of city councils continue to be controlled by Democrats. The specifics:

Ballard withstands Kennedy in Indianapolis. Winnecke beats Davis in Evansville. Bennett trounces Nation in Terre Haute. Smith flips Ockomon in Anderson. Moore dumps Galligan in Jeffersonville. Carmel, Fishers, Greenwood, Lawrence, Mishawaka, Noblesville are all still strongly Republican.

Henry holds off Hughes in Fort Wayne. Tyler upends McSorley in Muncie. Buttigieg over Curry in South Bend. Bloomington, Elkhart, Gary, Hammond, Kokomo, Lafayette are all still strongly Democratic.
